On Sunday 30th May several elite runners represented Hay Hotfooters in the infamous “Crocodile 8”  race.

Rachel, Eve, Tina, Angie, John, Martin and Carl bravely competed in the event that is so named due to its’ alleged similarity to  the shape of a certain reptilian species. However, a more fitting titlefor the race would be “Lovely run through pretty orchards followed by big bloody hill that is impossible to run up”. Although all did well, certain performances are worthy of note. John started like a bat out of hell but faded shortly afterwards. Carl smashed the hour barrier and Eve demonstrated the benefits of intensive pre-race alcoholic preparation.

The post-race debrief held at the Boat Inn was a sad affair where several runners sympathetically raised concerns over Carl’s love-life (or lack of it).However, a glimmer of hope surfaced when a topless man spotted Carl from his canoe and waved at him in a friendly yet strangely suggestive manner.  

Another photo has come into my possession which for reasons of censorship I don't feel I can show the wider running community. If anyone remembers Johns exploits on the Croft Castle Cross country....this is in a simular vein! However there are no scenes of nudity this time.
